Committee Descriptions
Committee Decription and Information (not those serving on the committee) The information below gives an over view of what each committee’s function. Many of our committees have provided letters of introduction about the committee, forms associated with the committee, and other information. You will find that information linked directly under the committee description.

ALUMNI SUBCOMMITTEE Plan, and coordinate district Alumni activities and maintain accurate list of alumni names and addresses.

ANNUAL GIVING SUBCOMMITTEE Plan and promote regular contributions to the Rotary Foundation. Designed to receive all contributions and recognition reports from World HQ and responsible for their distribution to clubs.
|
|
|
AWARDS COMMITTEE The awards program was begun during the administration year of District Governor Wendall Locke (1986-1987). Awards are traditionally presented at the District Conference. Also at this time we will recognize individual club members who receive the Four Avenues of Service Award.

FOUNDATION BANQUET Plans, organizes, promotes and raises funds for the annual Bi-District Rotary Foundation Banquet

CAKE WALK AND IMMUNIZATION COMMITTEE This committee is charged with organizing district participation in State Immunization Day programs, including CAKE walk programs. In addition, the committee will provide immunization information and will be the information point for the Blane Community Immunization Project.

COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE This community service committee helps the clubs identify and respond to new opportunities or activities that can benefit the community.

|
DISTRICT CONFERENCE COMMITTEE This committee assists the Governor in planning the agenda and making the arrangements for the District Conference.
|
EXTENSION COMMITTEE This committee promotes the establishment of new Rotary clubs.
|
|
FINANCE COMMITTEE The Finance committee, in cooperation with the Governor and the Governor Elect, prepares the budget for the district and oversees the expenditure of District Funds. The committee arranges for an audit by a qualified person. The auditor may not be a committee member. The results of the audit will be distributed to the clubs within three months after the end of the Governor’s term.

FOUR WAY TEST CONTEST COMMITTEE This committee’s goal is to assist clubs in holding Four Way Test Contests in their communities. Both essay and speech contests are acceptable. In addition, the committee will coordinate a district wide contest a the District Assembly of the winners of the contests held by clubs throughout the district .

FRIENDSHIP AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE COMMITTEE Friendship and cultural exchanges allow Rotarians the opportunity to experience other cultures first hand in the homes of Rotarians in other countries. Exchanges are designed to be reciprocal and may last from a few days to several weeks. In District 5750 we also combine foreign trips by district members to other countries with meeting Rotarians at their home clubs. The goal is expanded acquaintances and fellowship, hopefully leading to full exchanges.

GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE SUBCOMMITTEE This committee plans and implements Group Study Exchange (GSE) activities in the district. The committee is responsible for selecting the outbound team, securing the exchange itself, coordinating the exchange with the matched district, managing the logistic arrangements and securing hosts for the visiting GSE team.

INSURANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE The committee coordinates or secures third-person liability coverage for all clubs in the district. The committee informs clubs about the coverage and opportunities for expanding coverage and procedures that may be followed to minimize risk.

MAJOR GIFTS/PLANNED GIVING SUBCOMMITTEE Identifies, cultivates and solicits potential major donors to the Permanent Fund while promoting the Benefactor Program.
|

MATCHING GRANTS SUBCOMMITTEE Plan and coordinate district Matching Grants, 3-H and Rotary Volunteer activities. Assists the clubs in initiating and funding matching grants. Solicits matching grants to be sponsored by clubs in the district.

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND RETENTION COMMITTEE This committee’s focus is to help each club in the district to increase its membership. The committee will give attention to both the recruitment of new members and the development and retention of existing members.Click here for yearly event.

PERMANENT FUND SUBCOMMITTEE Is responsible for educating clubs and Rotarians about the programs for contributing to the Permanent Fund. Programs include the Benefactor Program, Major Gifts and the Bequest Society.

POLIO PLUS AND POLIO PLUS PARTNERS SUB This committee seeks to secure pledges to the Polio Plus Program from the clubs in the district and promotes participation in the Polio Plus Partners Program. The committee may also coordinate district immunization efforts.

|
PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE This committee assists the clubs in getting their message to the public and to promote the programs of the Rotary in the various news media. Includes Website development.

RECREATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL FELLOWSHIP This committee is responsible for encouraging District Rotarians to join a fellowship of their interests and to share their experiences.

ROTARY FOUNDATION COMMITTEES Plan, coordinate and evaluate all district Foundation activities under the supervision of the district governor. The chairperson is responsible for, and is a member of, all subcommittees. Receives contributions and recognition reports from World Headquarters.

ROTARY VOLUNTEERS SUBCOMMITTEE This committee provides information and encourages Rotarians to volunteer to assist in those areas of the world that require expertise in raising their basic standard living or condition of life.

ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD COMMITTEE Develop, organizes, promotes and implements the district RYLA program. RYLA is a week long leadership camp to help high school sophomores & junior with leadership aptitude to develop their leadership skills. Rotary Clubs sponsor students to attend.

|
SCHOLARSHIPS SUBCOMMITTEE This committee promotes and coordinates the scholarship programs. The committee interviews and nominates candidates for available scholarships. It secures counselors for scholars who are inbound to the district. It promotes and coordinates Rotary Inter Country Teachers Exchanges (RITE).

|
WINGS OF ROTARY COMMITTEE This committee plans and administers the annual exchange of high school students between District 5750 and District 2520 in Northern Honshu, Japan. The committee recruits outbound students, arranges home visits and activities for inbound students and oversees the selection of outbound team leaders. This program began in 1977 during the term of PDG Don Hellwege.

WORLD COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE Encourages and assists clubs in developing or participating in world community service projects designed to improve the circumstances of people throughout the world.
|
|
ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE Rotary’s mission in sponsoring the Youth Exchange Program is to permit young people with the opportunity to learn the culture and language of a foreign country through active participation in family, school, and community life in order to further international good will and understanding.
