Tamie S. Babb

Tamie S. Babb is a physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. She was born and raised in Clio, Michigan and moved to Oklahoma in 1986. Tamie received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry Education from NSU in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She taught high school chemistry before deciding to return to school. She received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Oklahoma, College of Medicine and did her residency in Tulsa, Oklahoma, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. She is currently in private practice in Cushing, Oklahoma. She has served as Chief of Staff of Cushing Regional Hospital and is involved in numerous committees. She is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Oklahoma State Medical Society and the Payne County Medical Society.
Tamie joined Rotary in 2000 and has served as the president, secretary, youth exchange office and board member. In addition, she has served on various district committees including the district youth exchange committee, group study exchange committee and as a responsible officer for SCRYE. She is currently serving as Assistant Governor under DG Bill Bowden. She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Paul Harris Society. Tamie has attended the Rotary Conferences in Barcelona and Chicago.
Tamie is married to Mike Babb, who is also a physician specializing in Family Medicine. Mike has served as presi dent of the Cushing Rotary Club in 2004-2005 and 2008-2009. He served four years as Assistant Governor. Mike has been a member of Rotary since 1985. He is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Paul Harris Society. Mike and Tamie have eight children and seven grandchildren. Chaitra and her family live in Tulsa and she is currently in her last year of nursing school. Tony and his wife live in Norman where they both are attending the University of Oklahoma. Tony is a Marine Reservist and has recently returned from a tour in Iraq. Rachel and her family are in North Carolina at Fort Bragg where her husband is stationed. Jeremiah is attending the University of Central Oklahoma. Marie and her family live in Oklahoma City and she is a professor at the University of Central Oklahoma. Michelle and her family live in Stillwater and she owns her own business as a massage therapist. Megan and her husband live in Minneapolis while she is working toward her MBA. Michael, Jr. is attending the University of Central Oklahoma pursuing a degree in guitar performance.
Tamie and Michael enjoy their family and friends, especially the friends they have made through Rotary. They love to travel and travel regularly to Nashville where Mike writes music. Whenever they find time, they also like to golf and sail.
