ABOUT GSE
Group Study Exchange is a unique cultural and vocational opportunity for young business and professional men and women between the ages of 25 and 40 who are not directly related to a Rotarian. Participants will experience an extensive program, which provides opportunities to observe activities in their vocation, as well as cultural, fellowship and Rotarian experiences in another country.
OUTSTANDING AREA BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL PEOPLE SOUGHT BY ROTARIANS FOR VISIT TO Belarus Poland Ukraine
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK- Rotarians of District 5750 are seeking four outstanding non-Rotarian business and professional people, between the ages of 25 and 40, to visit the Rotary District 2230 of Belarus, Poland and Ukraine in 2008 through the Group Study Exchange Program of The Rotary Foundation.
The program strives to improve international understanding by enabling people from different countries to learn from each other on a personal level. The awards involve exchanging teams of business and professional persons for month-long visits.
While abroad, team members stay with Rotarians to observe their host’s way of life and study the nation’s economic, social, and cultural characteristics through travel and discussions within participating Rotary districts. Team members also have the opportunity to meet their professional counterparts.
The Oklahoma GSE team will depart in the spring. Exact dates have not yet been determined.
District 2230 will visit our Oklahoma district in April, 2008. During their visit here, most Rotary clubs will have an opportunity to meet, spend time with and show our new friends from Belarus, Poland and the Ukraine.
For application, please contact, District 5750 Outbound Chairman Mike Turek at 405-390-8647 or email him at mike@oldgermany.com. You can also contact District 5750 GSE Chair Randy Goodman at 405-769-7990 or email him at rgoodman@coxinet.net.
Group Study Exchange is a program of The Rotary Foundation, the tax-exempt arm of Rotary International. Because TRF is tax exempt, sons and daughters of Rotarians are not eligible to participate.
